Two weeks ago we went on a two day trip to Budapest. It’s a smooth three hour drive from Vienna, so we figured that two days would be enough.
Budapest turned out to be a very young and modern city. There are so many nice hipster-like shops, lovely cafés and beautiful green squares. The city is very clean and all the buildings seem to be very well preserved. We were so lucky with the weather, so the city showed itself in the best light! 🙂
Where we stayed:
– We found a very nice Air Bnb in the jewish quarter – a very young, modern area with tons of hipster stores and cafès.
What to do:
– We spent a very nice and yummy evening at the restaurant named ‘Klassz’.
It offers traditional hungarian food and local wine.
– There are a lot of possibilities to have a nice view over the city: Walk up to the Gellért Hill to the statue of liberty or go see the Royal Palace to have a great view on the parliament.
– Buy some salami at the Great Market Hall Nagy Vasarcsarnok.
